A 500kg half pallet suits large residential properties with long driveways or shared access, private roads, small businesses with customer car parks, care homes, schools and property managers handling several sites. For a standard household driveway a smaller bundle usually suffices.

At the standard 40 grams per square metre application rate, 500kg treats approximately 12,500 square metres. That is enough for around 30 to 40 treatments of a typical business car park or several treatments of a long shared driveway across the winter.

White de-icing salt is a fine pure salt (99.9% NaCl, 0.3 to 0.5mm grains) that works faster and needs less quantity, while brown rock salt is naturally mined salt with impurities that stains surfaces. For commercial and residential properties where appearance matters, white salt keeps entrances and paving clean.

A half pallet (500kg) covers a normal winter for large properties or small businesses. Go for a full pallet (900 or 1000kg) if you manage multiple sites, run a business with high traffic, or want to lock in supply for two winters. Full pallets have a better price per kilo but need more storage space.

Spread the salt before ice forms, ideally on a dry surface just before frost is forecast. For commercial premises, treat evening surfaces after closing time so they are ready for early morning arrivals.
