The bags are moisture resistant but prolonged exposure to damp conditions can cause briquettes to bond together, which makes them harder to pour into the brine tank. Aquasol Tablet Salt works with all tablet salt water softeners on the UK market, including popular cabinet models such as Kinetico, Harvey, Monarch, Twintec and BWT. It is not suitable for granular or block salt systems, those models require a different format. Check your softener manual if you are unsure which type your unit takes.
Both contain 500kg of Aquasol Tablet Salt at similar prices, the difference is bag size. Go for 50 x 10kg if you find heavier bags a struggle or want more people in the household to be able to top up. Choose 20 x 25kg if you prefer fewer trips to the softener and don't mind the weight.
PDV stands for Pure Dried Vacuum salt, a manufacturing process where brine is evaporated under reduced pressure to remove impurities and produce exceptionally pure salt crystals. The result is high purity sodium chloride that dissolves cleanly and protects the internals of your softener.
BS EN 973: 2009 is the British and European standard for chemicals used in the treatment of water intended for human consumption. Aquasol Tablet Salt meets this standard, which means the salt has been tested and verified safe for use in water softening systems that supply drinking water.
Aquasol is made into distinctive pillow shaped briquettes (25 x 20 x 14mm) that are hard, non-dusty and porous. The porous structure helps the briquettes dissolve quickly into brine, while the firm compaction means less dust in your softener and less mess when topping up.
